The Contemporary Art Center’s 3rd annual Juneteenth Celebration will take place Sunday,
June 18, 6:30-8:30pm at the Contemporary Art Center of Peoria in the Preston Jackson Gallery.
The public is invited to this free event. No food or drink will be offered but guests may bring their own food and drink.
Artist Preston Jackson, founder of the Contemporary Art Center of Peoria, will share insights into his paintings on display in the gallery. Other speakers include Romando Dixson, Executive Editor of Peoria Journal Star, Whitney Jensen, co-host of Whisper & Shout: Open Mic for Poetry, will share spoken word poetry.
In-between speakers, music will be performed by Judy Page, Preston Jackson and their band.

Join ArtsPartners, CityLink Peoria, and the Peoria Guild of Black Artists in celebrating Juneteenth on Monday, June 19, for the unveiling of a special CityLink bus wrap. The featured artwork, designed by local artist Brenda Pagan, honors the many contributions of Black Peorians to the arts, culture, and history of our wonderful city!
The event will begin at 10AM at the Minority Business Development Center and will feature remarks from CityLink, ArtsPartners, PGOBA, and the MBDC.

Join the Peoria Symphony Guild for its 4th Annual Golf Scramble Fundraiser Benefiting Youth Music Education.
This four-person best ball scramble is at WeaverRidge Golf Club on Tuesday, June 20, 2023. Please RSVP for this event no later than Saturday, June 10, 2023.
Register your team of four for $440 or per person for $110. Golf registration includes a swag bag, green fees, a cart, and dinner. Don’t golf? Feel free to still join everyone for dinner!
Marcia Henry Liebenow, Peoria Symphony Orchestra’s Concertmaster, will be performing during dinner and she will be accompanied by Chee Hyeon Choi, piano.
Prizes will be available for the longest putt, longest drive in the fairway, closest to the pin par 3 drive, and low team score.
Sponsorship and donor opportunities are also available. Be a Hole Sponsor for $125, Nine and Dine Meal Sponsor for $250, and/or donation for Music Education Outreach.
